The Khmer Dynasty ruled over the land that is now known as Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos.  During this time, elegant classical music was developed to combine singing and dancing into a performance that honored the Gods. 


This type of classical had stood the test of time. It still remains known and relevant throughout Cambodia.



In this video, you can experience the sounds of traditional Khmer music. Performers band together outside the Angkor Temples to play Cambodian folk and classical music as a way to give honor to their Gods. The music is heard and enjoyed by tourists and civilians who come to visit the temples in Angkor.
